At Great Neck Chiropractic in Virginia Beach we offer many types of therapies. Each one is tailored specifically to the individual needs of each patient. Below are a list of some of the different types of therapies we provide to our patients. If you have any questions please call our Virginia Beach office at 757-481-9221.

Adjustments and Subluxations -- These treatments refer to manipulating the vertebrae that have abnormal movement patterns or fail to function normally. The objective of this chiropractic treatment is to reduce pain, increase range of motion, reduce nerve irritability and improve function.

Massage Therapy – The benefits of chiropractic massage are mental as well as physical, providing both the body and mind with relief from pressure, pain and discomfort. Through this procedure, we are able to remove toxins that can build up in the muscles in the body.

Therapeutic Exercise – Therapeutic exercises are prescribed to improve flexibility, increase endurance and aerobic capacity. They are used to strengthen the affected area, which will improve function and performance.

Custom Foot Orthotics – Custom orthotic devices are used to support any biomechanical abnormalities in the foot and ankle that cause spinal misalignment and dysfunction. Orthotics perform functions that make standing, walking, running and other daily and sports-related activities more comfortable and functionally sound.

Interferential Electrical Therapy– Electrical currents are used to simulate the same electrical impulses that are activated during normal movement.

Through interferential electrical therapy, we are able to improve circulation and release muscle spasms that may lock up muscles. This therapeutic treatment is used to aid in the relief of pain and the promotion of soft tissue healing. Tiny amounts of electrical impulses are induced into the tissues in the vacinity of the pain.

Cryotherapy – Cryotherapy is a procedure where we apply ice, cold towels, ice massage and cold compresses to reduce the temperature of tissues directly on or below the surface of the skin. This is used to help with muscle spasms and soft tissue injuries.

Ultrasound – Ultrasound therapy is used to treat injuries related to joints, muscle spasms and most soft tissue injuries. Our ultrasound technology creates small sound waves that vibrate and massage the soft tissues and muscles.

Diathermy – Shortwave diathermy emits heat by generating an electromagnetic field, bringing soothing relief to patients suffering from back pain, spasms, bursitis, arthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions.
